Tips on Hiring a Candidate

Interview Questions

By the time our candidate arrives at your home for an interview they would have been screened for the basic criteria - first aid certificate, police clearance, health clearance, experience, attitude etc.

We highly recommend that when you interview one of our candidates you satisfy yourself with the following:

  • they have a current driver's licence (they may have had a current driver's licence at the time of interview but this may have lapsed by the time you interview them);
  • they own their own car (if you require this);
  • they are willing to do any extra duties you may need done eg housekeeping, shopping, paying your bills etc. For example, nannies are trained to provide childcare only and may assist with light housework associated with the children only. Any duties over and above this will need to negotiated with the candidate directly;
  • that all family members are present at the time of interview. For example, that your children are present during the interview and that your nanny interacts with them to your satisfaction;
  • that all terms and conditions of employment are agreed upon during the interview and prior to the start date of the carer (your local Milestonz Nannies Agency will provide you with a sample candidate-family agreement should you require one).
